Hello Members of the SFLPA:
[SITE VISIT RESCHEDULED – PLEASE NOTE THE NEW DATE AND TIME]
I write to you today to extend an invitation to the membership to join us for a site visit of the Hilton San Francisco Financial District Hotel. As it is the venue that we have selected as we will host the 2019 November LSI Quarterly Conference. It has been a long time since the conference has been held in the City of San Francisco. Your Officers and the Board of Directors are very excited and we want you all to be a part of the conference process.
Just to give you a bit of background information, Legal Secretaries, Incorporated (LSI) is our parent statewide organization. Once a quarter, a local association bids to hosts a quarterly and an annual conference which is when the Executive Team and the Board of Governors, gets together to handle business matters pertaining to the corporation. The conferences are held in August, November, February and the Annual Conference is held in May of each year.
These conferences are not just related to business, they are also educational and lots of fun. It’s an opportunity to learn not only more about LSI, but to gain knowledge by attending the various educational workshops provided while having a fantastic time networking with peers throughout the state. Each conference typically has a theme. In addition to the business and education programs, there are many social activities such as a Welcome Reception, a luncheon, a celebratory banquet and a brunch to end the event on Sunday morning.
Continuing legal education seminars and workshops sponsored by the Legal Specialization Sections are offered at each conference, conducted by respected attorneys, judges, and educators. The workshops are free to members of the Legal Specialization Sections, and a nominal fee is charged to non-members. Updated materials are provided for each workshop. Attendees gain MCLE credits for each workshop they attend
In May of 2016, the SFLPA co-hosted the Annual Conference with our neighbors at Marin County LPA in Santa Rosa at the iconic Flamingo Conference Resort Hotel. The event was a huge success. Many have asked when we are going to host a conference back in San Francisco. Well, needless to say, we are excited to bring this event back to our wonderful city and now is the time to begin preparations as we are just about 17 months away from our event.
So, to get everyone excited, we wanted to host a site visit with our valued members. We are going to need all the help we can get as there are many ways each of you can help us make this a spectacular event. We are looking for people to help with the following committee positions:
- Boodle Bags
- Door Prizes
- Friday Reception
- New Media-Photography – Marketing
- Programs/Scrip Tickets
Our site visit is Saturday, Saturday, June 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Hilton located at 750 Kearney Street, San Francisco, CA 94108. We will be meeting our event coordinator for the first time. Our theme for the 2019 November Conference will be “A Tour of San Francisco.” The dates are November 22-24, 2019 which is the weekend before Thanksgiving weekend.
We are planning to market this event as a destination conference as we are going to be able to offer attendees our conference room rate up to 7 days after our event which goes through the Thanksgiving Holiday. So we are encouraging the LSI Family to plan on bringing their families to enjoy the sites of San Francisco for Thanksgiving in 2019.
As I previously stated, this event is hosted by the SFLPA and we want our members to be part of this process. So if you are interested, please join us on Saturday, June 23, 2019. The site tour is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. So we ask that you meet us outside the hotel at 10:15 a.m. We will tour the hotel, the conference rooms, the ballroom and we will provide you with all the information you need about the conference as well as the program that will be presented to those who attend.
I ask that you kindly send me an email to let me know that you plan to attend by the end of the day on Wednesday June 20, 2019. We will provide information packets to those in attendance. We will also have sign up sheets for those that would like to help. My email address is: email@example.com. Please reference 2019 Conference in the subject line and let me know if you plan to bring a friend.
On behalf of your 2018-2019 Board of Directors, we hope to see you there.
